The Spirituality of Imperfection - A public talk by Venerable Pandit
When: Friday, 6th May 2016 | 7-9pm (6.30 for 7pm start)
Venerable Pandit will be giving a public talk at the Metta Centre on "The Spirituality of Imperfection". With a degree in psychology and Buddhism, this talk will explore understanding one self. Despite your best intentions, and harshest criticisms of others, you are no Saint. Where religion demands you be perfect, spirituality knows you are not. Where your highest aspiration makes you sit on the cushion, your raging mind will give you no peace. This is the spirituality of imperfection, and the long patient battle to tame the mind.
Pandit Bhikkhu is a British monk ordained in Thailand since 1996. He has a degree in psychology and in Buddhist Studies from the Thai monk's university Mahaculalongkorn, just outside Bangkok. He runs the little Bangkok Sangha, which is the only English speaking group in Bangkok for Theravada Buddhism. As a practiced public speaker, his talks will be easy to follow, clear and precise.
