Drawing from his extensive experience working with both therapy clients and advanced meditation practitioners, Dr. Peck reveals how intensive meditation practice often differs dramatically from popular expectations. Rather than promising a state of perpetual bliss, he explores how deeper practice can uncover hidden psychological content—sometimes leaving practitioners feeling worse before they feel better.
Tucker offers a crucial roadmap for navigating these challenges, redefining enlightenment not as the absence of difficult experiences, but as a profound shift in how we relate to the constant fluctuations of consciousness. Tucker's book Sanity and Sainthood has recently been published, a groundbreaking work that challenges common misconceptions about the interaction of meditation and psychotherapy.
