The Gift of Life

Join us for a Dharma talk titled "The Gift of Life" where we will explore the profound significance of Dana, or generosity. This session will reflect on the brevity of life and the transformative power of giving. Discover how charity enriches both the giver and the receiver, and learn about the blessings that come from living a generous life.

About the Speaker: Bhante Rakkhita Samanera is a dedicated meditation teacher with over 40 years of experience. He was born in the UK, ordained in both Thailand 1986 and in Malaysia 2010. He then travelled extensively and was for quite some time based in the Philippines where, as well as introducing Dhamma, he supported local people in a poverty zone village through fundraising efforts and facilitating access to medical care, then progressing on to teaching Dhamma to Filipino teenagers in a Buddhist Junior High School. Currently living a nomadic monk-life, Bhante Rakkhita has recently been teaching meditation groups in several centres in Perth, naturally visiting Ajahn Brahm at Bodhinyana monastery. He continues his compassionate work by using innovative and therapeutic approaches to the teachings of Buddhism to offer relief from avoidable suffering. A short film of his work in the Philippines can be seen at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dst4jGGqiiI
