An old silent pond...
A frog jumps into the pond,
Splash! Silence again.”
Matsuo Basho
A brief moment …
provocative, colourful,
a sudden illumination …
What is Haiku?
- A conception that challenges our habitual grasping & concept-forming mind activity.
- Cutting through … a juxtaposition of two images and a ‘cutting word’.
- A kind of verbal punctuation mark …
- A moment of separation demonstrating how juxtaposed elements are related.
- A visual image or a line drawing.
