About the Speaker: Bhante Jāgaro is a Buddhist monk from the United States. His interest in Buddhism began as a lay person after attending a meditation retreat in 2004. He became inspired by stories from the Pāli Canon, in addition to more contemporary teachers like Ajahn Chah and Ajahn Brahm. Motivated by gratitude and determination, he sought to dedicate his life to the possibility of deep inner-peace.
After exploring several monasteries, Bhante Jagaro eventually ordained as a Buddhist monk in 2016 at Abhayagiri Monastery in Northern California. He trained under a number of teachers, including Ajahn Pasanno, Ajahn Viradhammo and Ajahn Mudito. Since 2023, he has focused on the practice of wandering in the United States, seeking to find an appropriate balance between seclusion and compassionate engagement.
