Ven. Thubten Dechen will speak on the theme of Everyday Kindness: how small actions can make a big difference; how to keep kindness alive when the world feels broken; and why compassion matters now more than ever. All are welcome.

About the Speaker: Venerable Thubten Dechen was ordained as a nun in 2017 by Lama Zopa Rinpoche. She trained in classical Buddhist philosophy at the Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa in Italy under Geshe Tenzin Tenphel and Geshe Jampa Gelek, completing both the FPMT Basic and Masters Programmes. She has taught internationally through dharma centres, universities, public talks and online; engaging students, scientists and business leaders on topics such as consciousness, ethics and compassion.

Before ordination, Ven. Dechen worked in investment banking and later in the humanitarian sector, leading health and disability programmes in South Asia and the Horn of Africa. She continues to advocate for refugees, victims of war, and those affected by injustice.
Ven. Dechen holds a law degree and an MSc in International Development. She is also trained as a life coach, with a particular interest in emotional intelligence and personal transformation. She currently serves as the IMI Representative for nuns in Europe.
