Buddhism for the World: a public talk by Dungse Jampal Norbu

Buddhist meditation practice helps us to look more deeply into our minds. In doing so, we also become more aware of the suffering of others, and more in tune with wider social and environmental issues. This public talk addresses the important topic of how we can move from an individual practising Buddhism to opening our practice to one that is socially-engaged and responsive to modernity’s challenges. For more information, please see this flyer. About the teacher About the teacher: Dungse Jampal Norbu was born in 1988 to Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist meditation master, and his wife, Elizabeth Mattis- Namgyel. Dungse-la trained from a young age under his father’s tutelage, recently completing a five year course in Tibetan philosophy. Dungse-la sees Buddhism as a practical set of skills that enhance our ability to live in a full and compassionate way. His humour, insight, and familiarity with the Western world allow him to pinpoint the relevance of the Buddhist teachings to the range of modern life’s concerns.
